BOARD
COMMENTS:
Supervisor Foley - Oral
re:Thanked Supervisor
Sarmiento for his moving invocation; apologized for any pain
she may have unintentionally caused to the community; her
priority continues to be to build coalitions and to oppose
hate and violence of any kind, her door remains open to meet
with Arab and Muslim leaders from her District; Hamas is a
terrorist organization and is not representative of our
community; speakers who spoke at the meetings are not part of
a terrorist organization; targeted attacks on our Muslim,
Arab-Americans and our Palestinian neighbors are unacceptable,
and this type of hate and violence has no place in Orange
County |
Chairman Wagner - Oral
re: Does not condone violence against Palestinians or anyone
else; expressed disappointment that no speakers condemned
Hamas or statements and actions done in the name of a
religion; Hamas is making the Islamic community here and
around the world look bad; Bob Page has answered questions
from the community regarding elections including the Voters
Choice Act; Governor not only signed legislation permitting
balloting harvesting but recently signed legislation stripping
Counties ability to move away frommachines
and voter choices |
