COUNTY OF ORANGE.THE APPLICANT IS A RETIRED OCSD INVESTIGATOR WHO CLAIMED VARIOUS INDUSTRIAL INJURIES, INCLUDING CUMULATIVE TRAUMA INJURY TO THE HEART. THE AGREEMENT REMAINS SUBJECT TO THE FINAL APPROVAL OF OTHERS.WHEN THE SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT IS FINALIZED, COPIES WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE OFFICE OF CEO-RISK MANAGEMENT TO ANY PERSON WHO INQUIRES.

Bryan Kaye - Oral re: Lessons learned from The Little Engine That Could children's story; petitions regarding hate crimes and forged plea agreements are ignored

 

Steve Rocco - Oral re: Recall District Attorney Spitzer; Assassins sent by Spitzer to kill him; had to hide in safe houses to stay alive; neighbors running generator and paint sprayers 24/7; cable show taken away by Pulido and Paul Walters

 

Howard Rich - Oral re: 2019 property tax appeal refund check has not been received from Auditor-Controller; requested Auditor-Controller stop payment of check lost in the mail and to re-issue new check; advised Auditor-Controller matter will be brought to the Board's attention at a public meeting or initiate legal action

 

Pat Davis - Comments read by County Counsel: Agreement with Praeses, LLC provides more money to jail phone system providers and does not provide improved access or reduced costs; food lacking nutrition in jails; waitlist for HUD Public Housing vouchers and opening the waitlist for housing vouchers in 2023; Public Housing Agency includes housing not shelters; vouchers needed for affordable housing; funding could be greatly enhanced by a housing bond if placed on the ballot

 

Felicity Figueroa - Comments read by County Counsel:American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds should be used for services that affect and improve the well-being of the community; do not provide funds to the Orange County Sheriff Department; concerns with millions of dollars spent on the construction of jail

 

Chelsea Boyle - Comments read by County Counsel: Food conditions in the jails; increase the Orange County Sheriff Department budget and provide financial support to programs that provide healthy food to people experiencing hunger

Supervisor Foley - Oral re: Requested County Executive Office and Health Care Agency assist her office in drafting a letter to Congressman Correa addressing concerns regarding continued access to COVID-19 testing for individuals and families without health insurance once current funding ceases; encouraged all Board offices to send a letter as well and provided an update regarding activities in District 2
