RECOMMENDED
ACTION(S):
Authorize the County Procurement
Officer or Deputized designee to execute Contract with AG Coast Inc. dba
California Panther Security for Unarmed Security Guard Services upon approval
of the Board, through March 31, 2025, in the amount not to exceed $212,500.
SUMMARY:
Approval of the contract with AG
Coast Inc. dba California Panther Security will allow the District Attorney to
continue to provide unarmed security guard services at their Osborne
headquarters building and offsite warehouse building.
BACKGROUND
INFORMATION:
The District Attorney (DA) requires
a contract for unarmed security guard services for the DA Headquarters building
located at in Santa Ana, CA and the DA Warehouse building located in Irvine,
CA, which was previously maintained by Orange County Health Care Agency. It is
estimated that services will be needed through March 31, 2025.
On April 1, 2020, the County
Procurement Office issued Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA) No.
RCA-017-20010006 with AG Coast Inc. dba California Panther Security for Unarmed
Security Guard Services, effective April 1, 2020, through March 31, 2025.
The DA now requests The County
Board of Supervisors to authorize the County Procurement Officer or Deputized
designee to execute sub contract with AG Coast Inc. dba California Panther
Security for unarmed security guard services, effective upon Board approval
through March 31, 2025, in the amount not to exceed $212,500 as referenced in
recommended action.
The Contractor’s performance under
the County Procurement Office RCA has been confirmed as satisfactory. The DA
has verified there are no concerns that must be addressed with respect to
Contractor’s ownership/name, litigation status or conflicts with County
interests.
The Orange County Preference Policy
is not applicable to this Contract. This contract is subordinate to
RCA-017-20010006.
Subcontractors
This Contract does not currently include
subcontractors or pass through to other providers. See Attachment B for Contract Summary Form.
FINANCIAL
IMPACT:
Appropriations for this Contract
are included in the District Attorney’s Budget Control 026 FY 2024-25
Budget. This Contract contains language
allowing the District Attorney to terminate the Contract or reduce the level of
service without penalty with cause or without cause in the event that funding
is reduced and/or not available to continue with funding the Contract.
