BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

OC Community Resources/OC Public Libraries (OC Public Libraries) is one of 11 Orange County member libraries that are part of the Santiago Library System.  The Santiago Library System is one of California's Cooperative Library Systems that receives funding support through the Communications and Delivery Program of the California Library Services Act (CLSA).  California public libraries engage in cooperative efforts through these systems and receive funding designed to assist and encourage interlibrary cooperation. Each year, the Santiago Library System distributes funding allocated under CLSA to its members according to a formula based on population.

On August 28, 2018, the Board of Supervisors approved the funding award from the Santiago Library System in the amount of $85,407. There were 2,265 new ebooks and eaudiobooks purchased with the 2018 funding award.

On September 9, 2019, OC Public Libraries received notification from the Santiago Library System that it would receive funding in the amount of $91,033 for the purchase of ebooks and eaudiobooks that will be made available for use at OC Public Libraries.
