RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
Authorize the County Purchasing Agent or his authorized Deputy to execute Amendment Three to Agreement N1000010519 with Susan Saxe-Clifford, Ph.D., a Professional Corporation, for psychological evaluation services, renewing it as Agreement MA-060-12010462, commencing 12/31/11 through 12/30/12, in an amount not to exceed $230,000.
SUMMARY:
The Sheriff-Coroner requests authorization for the Purchasing Agent to renew the agreement with Susan Saxe-Clifford, Ph.D. for psychological evaluation services, for a one-year period, in an amount not to exceed $230,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The agreement with Susan Saxe-Clifford, Ph.D. provides psychological testing services for entry level peace officers and related psychological services for the Probation Department, the District Attorney's Office and the Sheriff-Coroner Department. The agreement was originally approved in December 2008 for a one-year period, renewable for four additional one-year periods, in the amount of $242,000 per year. Amendment One to the agreement, which renewed the agreement for Year Two, was approved administratively by the Purchasing Agent pursuant to the Contract Policy Manual. Amendment Two to the agreement, approved by the Board on 12/14/10, renewed the agreement for Year Three in the same annual amount of $242,000. Proposed Amendment Three will renew the agreement for Year Four in the reduced amount of $230,000.
The vendor requires alternate indemnification and insurance provisions, and the addition of a limitation of liability clause. CEO/Risk Management has reviewed and approved the non-standard terms.
The amendment is on file in the office of the Clerk of the Board.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funding for this agreement is included in the FY 2011-12 budgets for the Sheriff-Coroner, District Attorney and Probation Department.
