BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

On January 23, 2018, your Honorable Board of Supervisors (Board) approved the dissolution of the Commission to End Homelessness and established a newly structured Commission to End Homelessness (Commission). The Commission is comprised of up to 18 voting members and two non-voting members; and is an appointed body of the Board.

The Commission serves as a collaboration of County government, city government, philanthropic, business-sector, community and faith-based organizations and other key stakeholders to focus on regional policy and implementation strategies, affordable housing development, data and gaps analysis, best practice research, social policy and systemic change to promote an effective response to homelessness within Orange County.

On August 28, 2018, the Board appointed 15 members to the Commission to End Homelessness. The At-large seats and Continuum of Care Board representatives were appointed at the April 9, 2019, Board meeting.

Since filling the seats for the Commission to End Homelessness, the representative for the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department resigned due to a scheduling conflict.
