RECOMMENDED ACTION(S)
Receive and file the 2006 Orange County Community
Indicators Report.
SUMMARY:
The 2006 Community Indicators Report is the seventh annual indicators report published by the County of Orange and its partner, the Children and Families Commission of Orange County and the Orange County Business Council. The report includes key indicators of economic, social and environmental trends in Orange County and includes comparisons to peer areas in the state and nation.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Each year, the annual Community Indicators report is assembled through a collaborative effort of many County departments, as well as other agencies and organizations throughout the County. These groups have contributed information and data during the preparation of this report that allows for a broad range of indicators to be presented. Each year, these indicators are used by many public and private organizations as they prepare their own internal strategic plans and policies.
As in prior years, once the report is released, the project team will be available to make presentations to interested groups and will solicit input and feedback to be used in the preparation of next year's report.
In addition to the printed version of the 2006 report, which is available through the Children and Families Commission of Orange County, it will be available on the County's web site.
