RECOMMENDED ACTION(S)
Approve the attached Schedule of County Capital Assets
Physical Inventory Dates for calendar year 2008 and 2009 as submitted by the
Auditor-Controller.
SUMMARY:
Approve the Auditor-Controller Schedule of County Capital Assets Physical Inventory Dates.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Codified Ordinances of the County of Orange require that a schedule of County Capital Assets Physical Inventory Dates be prepared and submitted by the Auditor-Controller each year for approval by the Board of Supervisors. The schedule has been prepared in accordance with Section 1-4-82 of the Codified Ordinances of the County of Orange, and complies with Federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-87 which requires a physical inventory at least once every two years. Although Superior Court's capital assets are no longer County assets under the provisions of AB 233 (Chapter 850, 1997 Statutes - The "Lockyer-Isenberg Trial Court Funding Act of 1997"), Superior Court will continue to utilize the County's fixed assets system and has expressed interest in continuing its biennial fixed asset inventories. Also, although Orange County Children & Families Commission’s capital assets are not County assets under the provisions of the agreement with the Commission, services provided to all County Departments are also extended to the Commission. Therefore, Superior Court and Orange County Children & Families Commission are included on the Capital Assets Physical Inventory Schedule for information purposes only.
