Authorize the County Purchasing Agent or his authorized Deputy to execute one-time Purchase Order PO-060-13011277 with NetXperts, Inc. for purchase of Cisco computer equipment and licenses, in an amount not to exceed $26,293.

SUMMARY:

The Sheriff-Coroner requests approval of the purchase of Cisco computer equipment and licenses from NetXperts, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $26,293.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center (OCIAC), administered by the Sheriff's Department, is relocating its offices to a new location.  As part of this move, OCIAC requires the purchase of Cisco computer equipment and licenses for the new network being installed in its new location.  Competitive bids for this equipment and licenses were advertised on the Internet. The lowest responsive bid was received from NetXperts, Inc., in the amount of $26,293.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

This purchase will be funded from asset forfeiture revenue received by the Sheriff's Department through the U.S. Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture Program.  Proceeds from this program are restricted to certain law enforcement purposes, including supporting facilities. The purchase is an unbudgeted fixed asset; however, asset forfeiture funding is available for this purchase in the FY 2012-13 budget for Budget Control 132, Sheriff's Narcotics Program.
