and file the 2025 Annual Report for the Commission to Address Homelessness.
SUMMARY:
Acceptance of the 2025 Annual
Report for the Commission to Address Homelessness (Commission) provides the
Board of Supervisor’s an update on the Commission’s activities and
accomplishments.
BACKGROUND
INFORMATION:
The Commission to Address
Homelessness (Commission) works in collaboration with the County of Orange
(County), thirty-four city governments, business sector, philanthropic
organizations, community organizations, faith-based organizations, health care,
public safety, and other interested stakeholders to promote an effective
response to homelessness within Orange County. The membership is comprised of
nineteen voting members.
On February 25, 2025, the Orange County
Board of Supervisors (Board) approved the revised Commission to Address
Homelessness Bylaws. During the meeting, an additional revision to the Bylaws
was made which states an annual report presenting the Commission’s activities
and accomplishments of the preceding year will be prepared and submitted to the
Board.
In 2025, the Commission continued to serve
as a vital advisory Board on the topic of homelessness by providing informed
guidance, fostering collaboration, and navigating increasingly complex changes
in policy and funding. The Commission’s work throughout 2025 reflected a dual
commitment to strengthening its internal structure while remaining responsive
to emerging challenges and opportunities across the local, state and federal
landscape.
At the February 18, 2026, meeting, the
Commission approved a draft 2025 Annual Report for submission to the Board.
